Reston VA Cable TV History
Cable TV service in Reston has been offered by four different companies since the cable system came into being in the late 1960s. The first firm was the Reston Transmission Company (RTC). In the early 1970s, Warner Cable purchased the system and operated it for two decades. In 1996, Jones Communications purchased the system from Warner.
