From Wikipedia: WWDC signed on in 1947 as an easy listening station until the early 1970s, when its FM side at 101.1 flipped to an album rock music format. Until 1998, DC101 was among the last independently-owned radio stations in the Washington D.C. market. The station's parent company, Capitol Broadcasting, sold DC101 and its AM sister station, WWDC-AM (now WWRC), to Chancellor, later AM-FM. Eventually, AM-FM was acquired by Clear Channel, which now owns eight radio stations in the DC market. DC101's facilities were once located on Connecticut Avenue between Dupont Circle and Farragut Square in downtown DC. They later moved to Silver Spring, and are now located in Rockville.....

It is the "DC101 Model A," which usually accompanied a boss jock on any appearance. It actually was a VW Beetle with a "model a" looking fiberglass body that shook like crazy when you went above 40 mph, we're told.....
